Your experiences with PGX Daily fiber supplement?
Has anyone used these fiber pills/powder? They are marketed as “all natural” and “stimulant free.” I have a friend who has been using them (2 pills before lunch and dinner) and she has lost 10 lbs in the past month. She says it has cut her portion size in half and she has also started an exercise program in the past 2 weeks (She’s following guidelines from the PGX website).

Anyway, I have some baby weight that I am trying to get rid of (I have a 10 month old daughter) and, along with diet and exercise, I was thinking of adding this supplement to my routine. I hope I am not completely naive to think that it is JUST a diet supplement. For example: I have been taking Omega 3-6-9 for my knee for years (works wonders). Is it such a bad thing to give your fiber intake a little nudge, as well?

Has anyone added this supplement to their routine and what have your experiences been?…Please no rude comments like: Stop eating or put the fork down, etc…It’s not a nice thing to say to someone with some baby weight to lose (or anyone else for that matter!).
Thank-you Tink. I am not looking for a “miracle in a bottle.” I am looking for something to supplement what I am already eating and, hopefully, aid in the “full feeling” and maybe a little weight loss. I am a vegetarian (for 12 years, since I was 16 years old) so I do eat plenty of beans, lentils, carrots and whole grains. But is it enough? I also eat small meals frequently but I still find myself hungry a lot of the time. There’s only so many carrots a person can eat lol. Anyway, thanks for your response.

I hate to tell you this, but it’s JUST a dietary supplement. Increasing your fiber intake in ANY form will help you decrease portion size – it used to be on the label for metamucil; to drink it a 1/2 hour before meals for that purpose. I’m all for increasing fiber intakes, most people don’t eat 35 grams per day (the RDA) and that is the MINIMUM that people should eat. I would suggest increasing your intake of beans and whole grains so that you increase both soluble and insoluble fibers.

There is no weight loss miracle in a bottle.
Good Luck.

Edit: You can calculate your fiber intake here, that will let you know if you are getting enough.

You can always try drinking metamucil before meals….I would suggest that before fiber pills, you are more likely to get enough water that way.
