Toning Shoes

We’ve all heard about the magical shoes that give you the same body as Megan Fox, okay well maybe it’s not that easy but the advertisements sure make it look that way. They are one of the fastest growing lines of shoes on the market right now but how do they work? Experts have looked into these shoes that tone your legs and butt as you walk and have the real scoop on if they work or not.

The shoes that tone as you walk work like wobble boards or BOSU balls and challenge your balance, since the most of the shoes have a soft wedge insert and dynamic rolling bottom to simulate walking on soft sand it makes it harder to walk and stimulates muscles in your thighs, butt and abdomen. Being challenged to stand up straight all day can strengthen the muscles in your core that you normally don’t use while just walking or standing. The shoes are essentially forcing your body to work harder in order to keep your balance and stabilize your body as you stand. In turn this gets your heart rate up and make the average day of standing, walking or a work out more challenging. In theory the shoes do many sense and could help out with exercising those muscles that aren’t often used, however; if wearing a sneaker is the only thing your doing to get some physical activity then you might not see astounding results.

After wearing the sneakers some say they felt a slight difference, whether it was good or bad. Most say they feel like the shoes stretch and sooth their muscles as they walked, but can’t feel much of a work out after. Others complain about how some of the toning shoes make them feel unbalanced and can’t be used for normal activities such as sports, running or climbing stairs. Most researchers say older people should consult a doctor before wering the shoes to see if their achilles tendons are strong enough to wear the shoes on a regular basis. Some are also concerned that people are not walking properly in the shoes, from heel to toe, which can set them up for injury. Even if the shoes aren’t woking a lot have stated they theres a certain “motivation factor” that goes along with the shoes. Those who wear the shoes usually get motivated and start walking or being more active, which of course can cause weight loss. So even if the shoes aren’t causing the dramatic toning and calorie burning results people think they are getting, they’re still motivating people to get active. Using the sneakers while doing regular balance based exercises is a great way to work out and improve your balance, and even work some muscles that you may have not known about.

So just wearing the shoes isn’t going to give you the toned backside in the advertisements, but using them in conjunction with working out and a healthy diet could really help out, and if not that they do have a motivation factor that is helping people get out and get active.
