How to reduce fluid retention while on testosterone replacement therapy?
Is it normal for someone taking testosterone to have a puffy face? I just feel bloated. However, my body and mind feels much better now that I have raised my T levels to normal. I have become more fit but when I took a picture recently, i notice that my face looks fatter than before when I was 25 lbs heavier and not on testosterone.

I’ve taken testosterone injections for many years and have known many other men who have and are taking it but I never heard of anyone having a puffy face from the testosterone. If you are concerned about it you should probably have a blood test done to see if there is another problem. Taking testosterone can increase cholesterol levels and probably triglycerides also but having a puffy face sounds more like some kind of a circulation problem.

Sometimes the T-gel takes you to T-levels that are too high. Things will level out when your doctor establishes your dosing vs. your T-levels. Fluid retention can be caused by dihydrotestosterone (DHT) levels, a metabolized by-product of the T-gel. Fluid retention is usually linked to blood pressure, kidney function, and medications.
Talk to your doctor about it and see if he thinks there is a problem.
