How long does it take after receiving an injection of Testosterone to start feeling the effects?
My Doctor has put me on Testosterone injection therapy because I have low testosterone. I just received my first injection today. How long does it take to start feeling the effects?

Depends on a couple of factors. First your initial testosterone level before any injection; second the amount of the injection. You usually start off with 1.5 mL. The doctor will have your blood tested for testosterone level usually a week after your last injection before your revisit. It might take a couple of revisits to get the optimal injection amount. It is usually a thick testosterone cypionate liquid injected intramuscular. You should begin to feel the effects 36 to 72 hours after the injection. For some men it could take as long as 4 days. You can obtain the syringes from a pharmacy and do the injection yourself and save yourself a trip to the doctor and the cost if your insurance does not pay for it. Depending on where you live you may need a prescription from the doctor for the syringes. If you have done any research on the subject you should know that a man’s testosterone level affects much more than just your sex drive.

What was said here pretty much hits the nail on the head.. It may take many days or weeks to feel anything and even then you may not know for sure. It is slow, very slow to come on, like a blister on your foot from walking. You hardly ever feel in getting there but boy, you sure know when it’s there.

If the docs will let you, do it your self and save time and $ $ . However, don’t expect some big ol’ massive amount of change to hit like a truck for the biggest change will be in the count the doc does in a few weeks.
It will take about three days for the entire injection to get into your blood stream but even then it won’t take affect for you to notice any change for about 10 days to maybe a couple weeks. The testosterone will be doing it’s job within your body’s cells but it’ll take them time to wake up ~ (so to speak), since they have been without adequate testosterone for some time. You might have to have a second injection before you really notice any significant difference but this depends on how many milligrams he gave you. A normal dose for one week is 100 mg so if you got 200mg or 300 mg, you won’t need another for 2 or 3 weeks respectively. You should notice an increase in libido in at least two weeks and your erections should start coming back spontaneously, i.e. morning erections in the first week to 10 days. You will probably notice your energy level increase first and an over all feeling of well being.
